Libya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, reassured full support for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunisia and other political dialogues
In his speech in the Security Council session which was devoted to the discussion of the situation in Libya on Thursday, Al-Sunni urged all the Libyan politicians to integrate and not compete
He added they have to work to find comprehensive and applicable political solutions not based on personal ambitions. They must act in unity to forge a better future for the country
In his speech, Al-Sunni said that mechanisms for choosing positions are fragile without the national reconciliation
The Libyan delegate wondered: What are the guarantees for the success of any new political body? He explained that the issue in Libya is not one of sharing rules or holding positions. The real problem is that the wounds have not been healed since 2011, so the resolution must start from the base to support social peace
In his speech, the Libyan delegate renewed the call for the African Union to sponsor the path of state’s reconciliation
Al-Sunni also called on the Security Council to send a clear order to the new authority to achieve the outcomes of The Political Dialogue Forum
Then, he concluded and welcomed the elections of December 24
