Al-Marimi: Parliament Elections Will Be Held According To The Constitutional Declaration

The media advisor to the presidency of the Libyan House of Representatives, Fathi Al-Marimi, said ‘’The House of Representatives had previously issued a law to elect a president of the Libyan state. Also, it is working on issuing a new law for the election of the House of Representatives.

He explained in a press statement today, Sunday, that if the parliament is unable to do so, then the current House of Representatives election law is valid and can be implemented.

The House of Representatives is supposed to meet tomorrow, Monday, to discuss the parliamentary election laws.

Recently, the House of Representatives formed a 13-member committee to draw up a proposal for the law to be ready before the elections take place.
