Deputy Adam Abu Sakhra criticized the budget proposal submitted by the Government of Abdel Hamid Al-Dbaiba, stressing that the budget lines for militia maintenance were much larger than those for the security apparatus.

During a meeting of Parliament held on Monday, to consider the draft budget, Abu Sakhra said that “the budget for militias and illegal objects that do not belong to the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of Defence – Al-Radea, Kara militias, Ghuniwa and Al-nwasi – is more than 170 million. However, the budget for security and police departments throughout Libya is 40 million.

He stressed that the security directorates were legitimate and under the Ministry of the Interior, but those militias did not belong to any ministry.
