Major General Khalid Al-Mahjoub, Director of the Army’s Guidance Department, resolved to answer the question of who would take command of the Libyan National Army in the next phase, especially after the selection of a new national authority.
He confirmed that the army’s command will be to the coming democratic president chosen by the Libyan citizens.
In statements to the Italian agency ‘’Nova’’, Al-Mahjoub said that the tasks of the new government are well known, namely, the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections in the country, in which the Libyan people express their aspirations freely and transparently.
As long as there were still foreign forces in Libya and mercenaries brought in daily by Turkey and weapons outside State authority, the need for an organized national army remained.
