Media sources stated that Cairo demanded Ankara to pledge not to interfere in the upcoming Libyan elections. Thus, the two countries can normalize the relations again.

According to Arabia Channel breaking news on Thursday, the sources confirmed that Cairo had demanded written pledges from Turkey to respect Libya’s sovereignty, noting that Egypt had linked the withdrawal of Turkish forces from Libya to the resumption of security meetings with Ankara.

The sources explained that Cairo upholds claims to extradition despite the Turkish refusal, noticing that Egypt had postponed new meetings with Turkey because of the failure to implement Egyptian terms and demands.

The sources clarified that Turkey rejected Egyptian demands to reduce the number of its troops in Libya.
