Germany: The Political Process Is To Libyans And Dictates Cannot Be Imposed By Foreigners

The Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations, Christoph gen, said that the political process belonged solely to Libyans and that the role of the international community should be limited to supervision. His country called for the deployment of international observers to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Libya.

In his press remarks today, he added that it was unacceptable that there should be dictated from outside, on the Libyan people.

The role of the international community was to assist and urge all parties to agree on what they called the well-being of the country, overcome difficulties and take the necessary steps to achieve stability.

The Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations added that Berlin2 had reminded all international parties of their obligations towards Libya and had called for the withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from the country, the withdrawal being coordinated, despite the lack of a time frame.
