According to the official Twitter platform of IOM Libya, it stated that, ‘’more than 310 migrants were intercepted last night off Libya and returned by the coast guard.’’

‘’While IOM teams were there to provide emergency assistance, including medical support, we maintain that Libya is not a safe port.’’

It continued, ‘’another 173 migrants were returned to Libya today (Sunday) by the coast guard. More than 4,500 people were intercepted or rescued so far this year and ended up in arbitrary detention. IOM renews its call to end this system and find alternatives that provide safeguards for people.’’
