Italy FM: Rome Has Historic Friendship Ties With Libya

Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio claimed that his country has strong ties with Libya, asserting that Rome is currently Tripoli’s first interlocutor.

According to a statement quoted by ‘’Nova’’ agency, he said Libya today has unified institutions representing the country. 

The Foreign Minister added that his country had historic friendship ties with the Libyan people, noting that he had visited Libya Sunday to meet with the new authority. 

On Sunday, Maio discussed the reactivation of the Libyan – Italian Friendship Agreement and the possibility of starting Ras Ajdeer Amsaed coastal route, with the President of the Presidential Council Mohamed El-Manfi and his two deputies, along with Foreign Minister Najla Al-Manqosh.
