Kubis Comments On The European Delegation’s Visit To Tripoli

Jan Kubis, the UN envoy for support mission in Libya, commented on the visit of the European delegation to Libya, which included many foreign ministers. 

‘’The Special Envoy stressed the importance of the support of the international community to the Libyan people as well as to the new leadership to be able to carry out their duties including the preparations for the holding of the national elections on 24 December.’’

1. Kubis stated that “Such a visit is a strong signal of a unified European position to support Libya in moving towards peace, stability, democracy, unity, and sovereignty.”

The UN mission described the European visit as historic and pointed out that Kubis accompanied the foreign ministers of Germany, Heiko Maas, France, Jean-Yves Le Derian, and Italy, Luigi Di Maio, to Tripoli on Thursday.
