Kubis Discusses Libya’s Stability With Russia’s Envoy

According to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry, head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Jan Kubis discussed the progress of the political settlement process in Libya with Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East and North Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister.
The bilateral talks focused on issues related to the new transitional government’s implementation of the roadmap for settlement, which was adopted by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in November 2020.
The statement revealed that Moscow has renewed its steadfast commitment to solving the problems facing Libya. Thus, they could build a comprehensive Libyan dialogue with the participation of all the main political forces in the country. Besides, they seek to continue to coordinate international efforts and the main role of the United Nations to restore the peace, respect for unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in Libya.
