Egyptian media shed light on the situation in Libya, stressing that there are broad understandings that are close to an agreement, between Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba.

The reports, quoting Egyptian sources, said that a meeting will soon be held between the two parties at the headquarters of the General Command in Al-Rajma, in the presence of a number of ministers.

The information indicates that Egyptian mediation has recently succeeded in reaching understandings between Dabaiba and Field Marshal Haftar, stressing that the first stages of the agreement will be through a meeting between the two parties in the city of Benghazi during the next few days.

The sources confirmed that the agreement stipulated that the Dabaiba government would urgently sacrifice one billion dinars in the treasury of the General Command, to pay the overdue dues of the members of the Libyan army, provided that the government would be allowed to carry out its work in the east of the country and pave the way for the implementation of the elections scheduled to take place on December 24.
