The 5+5 Committee Purses Berlin Conference Outcomes

The meeting of the military committee in its seventh round of 5+5 held in Sirte city in Libya from 4-7 February

The main issue of the meeting is to work on the Berlin conference outcomes

Thus, the members reiterated the calls to the United Nations Security Council to withdraw mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libya directly. Also, they announced the actual start of demining operation and removal of remnants of war from 10th February in preparation for the opening of the coastal road

Furthermore, the committee discussed with UNSMIL the essential steps of the work of international observers to be sent to Libya to observe the 23 October ceasefire

They added that the 23 October 2020 ceasefire resolution led the country to form a Government of National Unity through the political presses
