UNSC Arranges A Meeting Regarding Libya Today

Today, the United Nations Security Council arranges a private meeting regarding Libya’s current situation. The Council is expected to vote on a draft resolution extending the authorization to inspect ships on the high seas off the Libyan coast for another year, beginning on June 5.
The draft also allows the Member States of the Council to confiscate and dispose of any shipments discovered under the arms embargo under resolution 25 (2001), including control of illegal oil exports and human trafficking.
