Williams Asserts the Role of the Unified Government

The Deputy on behalf of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Stephanie Williams, stated that the House of Representatives must take the essential stages to fully approve the unified interim executive authority
She noted that all the selected members affirmed their commitment to the roadmap
Williams assured that national reconciliation is one of the central responsibilities of the new government and there is a necessity to build on the trust that was developed during the political dialogue sessions
She emphasized that there is a need to meet the date of the elections on December 24 and that the government must provide the needed support to the electoral commission
The UN envoy added that the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum will have a central role to guarantee that the new authority obeys the deadlines that have been set
