Germany expressed its role in ending the current crisis between the Palestinians and the Israelis, stressing that the conflict in the Middle East cannot be resolved by the use of force.
“The conflict in the Middle East cannot be resolved by force, but the solution is only political,” said the German Foreign Ministry spokesman in the Middle East, Denis Cometat.
The spokesman added on his Twitter platform: “We must adopt the steps to build confidence between Israel and the Palestinians through the two-state negotiated solution.”
He continued, “There is hope for a permanent exit from the ever-renewed cycle of violence.”
The spokesman’s comments came as a comment on the statements of German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, regarding the developments in the situation between the Palestinians and the Israelis, which led to dozens of deaths and injuries.
